Day 4-Your parents

My parents are Randy and Cheryl Emfinger.

My parents - aren't they gorgeous people?!
They grew up just down the road from each other. They even road the same bus to school while they grew up.  Their familys' land was seperated by a creek. To get from one side of the road was none other than a bridge where my dad proposed to my mom while they were home from college one weekend.  They married on June 12, 1982 and are still married today.

They welcomed their first born into the world in 1987, ME!
They welcomed their second born in the world in 1992, my sister Amanda.

They began their marriage living on the campus of Southwest while mom finished up her degree in nursing.  Later they moved to a rental property behind the old children's clinic in Brookhaven where they lived the next several years of marriage paying $120 in rent (boy how have times changed!).  After I was born, they decided it was time to move out of the rental and purchase a property and home of their own.  My parents now live on the same land that they bought around my first birthday.  My parents bought a trailor on 7 acres of land on Smith Lake road in 1988.  About a decade later they had a house built on the same land.

My parents were there to listen and watch my sister and I go through many ups and downs, celebrations and sorrows, new relationships and breakups, and the list goes on and on!  I love my parents dearly!

Thankful for my parents successful marriage of 28 years,
Kayla
