Day 16 - Dream House

I love my house right now! It's the perfect house for us! It's my dream "first" house!

On down the road, I dream of living in a house that has a few more bedrooms, living space, larger kitchen, and a larger yard.  Right now, there is no need for all the extra space, nor are we ready for the bigger mortgage!

I do not have a specific house in mind so I will tell you what's on my list of wants for my dream house.
  • Enough bedrooms for every child PLUS one - So probably a 4 bedroom house (master room, 2 childrens rooms, and guest room)
  • Large back porch - My parents have a back porch and I miss having one to sit on in the spring and fall
  • Garage - That is surely on the next house list! Waiting for the windshield to defrost is NO fun
  • Office -  For computer and area to pay bills
  • Sun room or room to relax and read in
  • At least 2.5 bathrooms - large master bath and children's bath with his/her sinks, and guest 1/2 bath. In the master bathroom I wants a HUGE soaking tub and a seperate shower.
  • Tall ceilings - I love my tall ceilings now!
  • LARGE kitchen with LOTS of counter space - Daniel and I get in each others way when it comes to the kitchen
  • Media room - If I have a media room, I may can do without the office. I would put my T.V., computer and gaming systems in there and use my living room as I place to fellowship with family and friends
  • Walk-in closets in each bedroom - Master bedroom with his/her closets
I can't think of anything else right now.  I'm sure once my family grows I will know more about what I we want, need, and can afford!

Content More than content with my house right now,
Kayla

Day 15 - Bible Verse

Favorite?? Seriously??? I don't have a FAVORITE because different phases of life cause my favorite verse to change.

For over a year now I have claimed 1 John 1:5.  I cite it to friends who are going through a difficult time. It's also a great verse to flip to when I need to "refocus" whenever life throws a curve ball.  It was a verse Bro. Jon Daniels used in a cermon at Country Woods two Sundays before Daniel was laid off.  The message Jon was preaching, and the verse itself, laid heavely on my heart.  I know God was preparing my heart for hardship when He brought me to this verse.  I have soaked it up, breathed it, and claimed it!

So here it is....

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare you you: God is light, in him there is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:5

So I am a visual learner.  If you saw this verse in my Bible right now you would see different color pen marks, circles, underlines and other markings where certain words in this verse stand out.

When I read it, this is what I see...

"This is the message we have heard from him and DECLARE to you: God is LIGHT; in him there is NO darkeness ................... AT ALL." 1 John 1:5

Do you see that?!?! God does not allow you to stay in darkness, even if you feel like you have reached a dead-end and feel like your world is caving in on you.  It's so refreshing to know that if we trust God, and trust that there is a reason for the hardship, and trust that He is with us and will NEVER leave us in the dark. When we trust Him, the light at the end of the tunnel isn't that far away afterall!

Living in the light,
Kayla

Day 14- A picture you love

It's a picture I LIKE... not love.

2-14-2010

I'm posting this picture because it has a theme.  It was taken LAST valentines day. It was our first married v-day. It was taken on February 14, and tomorrow is February 14, and this is Day 14 of blogging.  So I figured I would use this picture.

It was a simple night.  I made chocolate covered strawberries and we used a gift certificate we had to Julep.  I remember we both had mixed emotions that night.  We wanted to celebrate and be happy, but Daniel had been jobless for two weeks.  There was a feeling of uncertainty looming over us.  We still wanted to celebrate, nonetheless.  It's so... AMAZING... to see where all God has led the two of us in the past 12 months.

Loving my hubby and Father and all they do for me,

Day 13 - Goals

1. Lose some weight... okay maybe ALOT of weight.  So far I'm 13 pounds down since Dec 30!

2. Be an effective teacher - I would love for my students' MCT2 scores to rise so our school will be classified as a "high performing"  school.

3. Travel with my hubby to a state I've never been before I become a mommy. (California or New York are on the list)
